Fiona Hedigan, B. Comm., ITEC Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology & Body Massage; ITEC Diploma in Aromatherapy; Accredited Member IFPA.

My main area of practice is clinical aromatherapy. I am interested in the therapeutic use of essential oils to help create emotional and physical wellbeing. In consultation with my clients I make oil, cream or gel preparations tailored to each person's needs. There are many benefits in using essential oils particularly for relieving stress and anxiety and with every client I use the oils with a combination of relaxation techniques and touch therapy.

I have studied Clinical Aromatherapy with leading Aromatherapist, Rhiannon Harris in France. I am also a member of the International Federation of Aromatherapists and the Complementary Therapists Association.

Since 2007, I have been working as a volunteer in the Cancer Support Centre in St. Vincent's Hospital and I am researching the use of aromatherapy in alleviating anxiety in the treatment of cancer.

After graduating from U.C.C., my career began in the IDA and later in the Irish Export Board (CTT). Since 1988 I have been working as a self-employed marketing consultant specialising in new business development and marketing strategy. My work has been in the consumer products and service sectors with a particular interest in small, owner managed businesses. I have also worked as a business mentor with Irish companies through programmes run by the Irish Goods Council, Acumen and DIT.
